Hi,

I have a HPUX server that export some directories using samba.
When I try to access these directories from my pc (windows), using \\mysrv (the short name), it works fine. However, when I type \\mysrv.com (the full name), I get "The network path was not found". ping and telnet to the full name work fine. Everything was ok (it worked with short and full names) until two days ago.
Does somebody know what went wrong?

10x, Max.

Not without knowing what changed.

If it worked until 2 days ago, look back and see what changed 2 days ago. Obviously something did.

Someone here in the office solved the problem!!

The solution is to restart the nmbd.
It causes the server to re-register itself in the WINS server.

Have a good day,
Max.
