      <title>NIS client service failure</title>

      <description>Have set up a NIS server and a client on two different HP UX 11 systems.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The server process starts ok, but the NIS client fails at booting. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;However, passwords created on master are working on the client machines.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Here is the copy of rc.log file:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;starting NIS CLIENT networking&lt;BR /&gt;    starting up the rpcbind&lt;BR /&gt; rpcbind already started, using pid: 461&lt;BR /&gt; domainname pds_dom&lt;BR /&gt;    starting up the Network Information Service&lt;BR /&gt; starting up the ypbind daemon&lt;BR /&gt; /usr/lib/netsvc/yp/ypbind &lt;BR /&gt; Checking NIS binding.&lt;BR /&gt; Unable to bind to NIS server using domain pds_dom.&lt;BR /&gt; starting up the keyserv daemon&lt;BR /&gt; /usr/sbin/keyserv &lt;BR /&gt;"/sbin/rc2.d/S420nis.client start" FAILED&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Pls help.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Ashish.</description>
