    <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;If you want to remove BASTILLE software properly and undo all the changes then follow this procedure:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Remove this bundles:&lt;BR /&gt;HP-UX Security Patch Check Tool&lt;BR /&gt;Bastille Security Hardening Tool&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Then:&lt;BR /&gt;# cd /var/opt/sec_mgmt/bastille/revert/&lt;BR /&gt;# chmod 0500 revert-actions&lt;BR /&gt;# ./revert-actions revert-actions.last&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This will get you rid of BASTILLE.&lt;BR /&gt;Hope that helps and everything starts working fine later.&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Dear all&lt;BR /&gt;I have installed HP-UX 11.23 on HP Itanium RX2600 server, I am facing one strange problem on this server , I can ping from this machine to other machines in the network ,but i can't ping from any other machine to this Server, I have checked lanadmin &amp;amp; reseted NIC but still same problem&lt;BR /&gt;please advice.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>There is an optional security product shipped with 11.23 called 'Bastille'.  If you chose to install this, it can cause this problem.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Use 'swlist -l product Bastille' to see if it is installed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi &lt;BR /&gt;Could you check if follwing things are correct:&lt;BR /&gt;1. hostname (Also check your /etc/hosts)&lt;BR /&gt;2. IP address&lt;BR /&gt;3. Subnet Mask&lt;BR /&gt;4. Gateway IP and Subnet Mask.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Problem lies in one of those above.&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;Check /etc/inetd.conf file and make sure line &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;echo         stream tcp nowait root internal&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;has entry and not commented out.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;if this line is hashed, remove hash and run inetd -c and then try ping.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sunil</description>

      <description>Thanks for your replies.&lt;BR /&gt;i am checking the server settings &amp;amp; it seems everything is allrite but still i am not able to ping.&lt;BR /&gt;I have remove Bastille also&lt;BR /&gt;In /etc/inetd.conf there are entries like tcp6 for echo is it correct? or u have to change it to TCP only.&lt;BR /&gt;Please advice.</description>

      <description>HI &lt;BR /&gt;If the problem have come after the BASTILLE installation then there is one script called "revert.action" (don't remember the exact location), if you execute that it will reset all the changes it has done.&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Why would you remove Bastille, an excellent tool for improving security.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The mere fact of installing Bastille does not cause problems. If Bastille is the cause of the problem, it had help, the admin who answered the questions when Bastille asked its security survery.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Run the product again and answer the questions , taking care to read the ones concerning ping and network connectivity.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>Hello All&lt;BR /&gt;Many thanks for you replies ,Infact i unconfigured Lan0 &amp;amp; then configured again &amp;amp; then it was pinging, alter on CDE was not working &amp;amp; since lot pressure &amp;amp; it is new system w/o any application ,i reinstalled OS again &amp;amp; now  everything is working fine.&lt;BR /&gt;Many Thanks Again,Great Forum to learn.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;BR&lt;BR /&gt;Subhash</description>
