Hello Vasikaran,

We have the superdome partitions across a 2Gb/s link and a typical ftp speed is 12 MB/s approx.

I have been trying to verify what should be the speed I can expect for a FTP session.

Environment is like between two Superdome partitions running HPUX 11i and networked across the company WAN.

Any numbers from experiences?.

thanks for any help.

Hi,
It entirely depends on your networking components. Well in 10 MBps Ethernet LAN effective speed is 2 to 2.5 MB/sec.
Regards,

This is totally dependent on any factor from wiring quality to brand of switch to load factors from other machines on the network will effect this.

SEP

Hi,

Like it is said, it depends on the network bandwidth and the traffic on the network. we get around 10-15MB/s and have been known to get more.

hope this helps.

Regds
