Not sure how to say this, but the system somehow "remember" about previously used devices. A reboot will clear all this information. You can adjust this (and much more) with scsimgr.

Lots of information here:

http://docs.hp.com/en/oshpux11iv3.html#Storage%20Area%20Management

and here

http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-60130/scsimgr.1M.html

Is it still the same? What about agile device considerations under 11.31 (which I still do not understand really -- just lazy to RTFM..)

Reason I am asking is it seems whenever we depresent and present EVA (active/active) storage, we always end up with a succeeding prsentation of a LUN or LUNs not succeeding and the system spews out something like:

class : lunpath, instance 63
Evpd inquiry page 83h/80h failed or the current page 83h/80h data do not match the previous known page 83h/80h data on LUN id 0x0 probed beneath the target path (class = tgtpath, instance = 57) The lun path is (class = lunpath, instance 63).Run 'scsimgr replace_wwid' command to validate the change

The fix that we do currently is simply reboot.

Anyone can enlighten me on the proper and good ways of managing storage dynamism on 11.31 environments?

Or point me perhaps to a Good Docu?

Many thanks!
Torsten,

Can you give me an example?

I found the docus and forwarded them to my admins to digest whilst I focus on other things.
