Hi,
I am about to create a filsystem greater than 2TB say 7 TB. I heard that it's possible to create using LVM because it supports upto 2TB. I want to clarify that using Base VxVM 4.1 installed, can we create the filsystem greater than 2TB? We are not going to use CFS as we are not under RAC.
Note: It's not an Oracle filesystem. It's a filesyetem.HP-UX 11i v2 B.11.23, Serviceguard 11.17
test:/dev/vx > swlist|grep -i vxvm
Base-VXVM B.04.10.011 Base VERITAS Volume Manager Bundle 4.1 for HP-UX
VxVMcoreq B.11.23 VxVM Co-requisite Patch Bundle Sept. 2006
test:/dev/vx >

Thanks,
Srini
Sorry the above should read
"I heard that it's not possible to create using LVM because it supports upto 2TB." and also
It's not an Oracle filesystem. It's a flat filesystem

Srini

Thanks.
Ok I can use the Base VxVM to create the filesystem greater than 2TB i.e. upto 32TB if I have JFS 4.1 and version 5 layout.

How can I make the volume group cluster aware using VxVM. I can use vgchange -c y for LVM.

Thanks,
Srini

Hi,
One more clarification. I found out the information from HP docs saying that by having the following patches installed we can able to create the filesystem upto 16TB. Is it so?
Size of a LV 11.23 with the following or superseding patches:- PHCO_36744, PHKL_36745, PHCO_37939 - 16TB
http://docs.hp.com/en/6054/LVM_Limits_White_Paper_V4.pdf

Thanks,
Srini
