vgscan slow

we are trying to recreate the lvmtab

when we perform a vgscan -p -v

we can see that vgscan tries to connect to disks that do no longer exist on the system
So it takes vgscan a long time to finish

can some one tell me what i am missing here.

Try to remove device files for unpresented disks with rmsf:

#rmsf -H path
for example
#rmsf -H 5/0/12/1/0/4/0.16.194.0.0.1.2

and after that run vgscan again.

vgscan is ow progressing much faster, looks like i'm gonna have a lot of work to do, cleaning op the messon this system

remove the device files for the NO_HW devices

rmsf -H
