topic CacheFs useful? in Operating System - HP-UX

Is there anybody with experience in using CacheFs?
Is it worthwhile to look into it?
I'm wondering if it might be useful for mounting our tools-directory (mainly executables and read-only) instead of an direct NFS mount.
We are running HPUX 11.11.

Hardy

hi,
cacheFS will improve the performance for readonly files like binaries files.

The HP-UX 10.20 ONC+ Networking Enhancements (NFS PV3, AutoFS, CacheFS) patch bundle contains patches to provide certain ONC+ be capabilities (NFS Version 3.0, AutoFS and CacheFS) to the 10.20 HP-UX software base. NFS Version 3.0 capability is already present in HP-UXt 10.30 and later, as is NIS+.

The following patches are prerequisite patches for the ONC+ functionality on HP-UX 10.20 servers:
NFS Kernel General Release & Performance Patch, PHNE_13834
NFS/NIS cumulative patch, PHNE_13835

regards,
U.SivaKumar
