      <description>It absolutely will change the device names. It is however possible to renumber the device names after the switch.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Document KBRC00004879 tells how to do that.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As a precaution, I'd back up the data and do a vgexport on the volume group. You can then vgimport after the switch, rebuild the volume group and minimize the disruption.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>We completed the task successfully, The device names will change when you move over to different SAN switch. Do a VGSCAN and VGCHANGE for all the Volume groups and mount them.</description>
