HP-UX , Visualize , Cannot open Display , error.

Hi ,

I have one SUN Solaris 8 , server. And one HP-UX Visualize Workstation , connected to same network.

From HP-UX graphical interface, i am rloging the Solaris server. And want to run the #admintool command.

# uname -r
B.11.00
# rlogin sol_host
....
SUN Os login: root
password: ******
# admintool &

But it says ,
" Error: Cant open display"

Can any one tell me how to set the Display on My HP Workstation to see the graphical interface menus of Solaris admintool , or any other application , like netBackup etc.

Hi Raj,

before you rlogin to the Solaris server, give a

# xhost +"ip-address_of_solaris_server

# rlogin solaris_server

# export DISPLAY=ip-address_of_hpux_workstation:0.0

Hi raj

After you login to solaris machine
# DISPLAY=:0.0
#export DISPLAY
#admintool

you get admintool gui
