This is the same issue I am working on transferring vg00 data. I lost my ITRC id I had to open a new one and also I cannot read my old messages.

Anyway I am tring to reboot from the newly created mirror drive. Reboot fails and says

AUTO EXEC FILE INCONSISTENT TERMINATING THE BOOT AND DISPLAYS THE CONTENTS OF AUTO FILE
hpux(;0)/stand/vmunix

Thanks

Hi Raji,

your boot string should look like,

hpux (;0)/stand/vmunix

Interrupt the boot procedure and boot thru the primary disk. Select Y to interact with ipl and at the ipl prompt, type in the boot string shown above and see if you are able to boot. Once you have booted the system, You can change the boot string to the one shown above using mkboot -a,

mkboot -a "hpux (;0)/stand/vmunix" /dev/rdsk/cxtydz

Here cxtydz is your root disk.

Hope this helps.

Regds
Hi Raji,

The boot AUTO string may have some problem. As sanjay mentioned, you can correct this by 'mkboot' command.

Now, boot from the disk, interrupt it to enter ISL prompt and give:

ISL> hpux (;0)/stand/vmunix

This should boot your system. Once booted, check the output of 'lvlnboot -v', it should show both of your boot disk. Also check all LVs with 'lvdispla -v'. Correct the AUTO file with 'mkboot' command. You can check the AUTO file entry with 'lifcp' command.

HTH,
Shiju
