route add help

Hi,

i'm trying to add a route on HP-UX11i

10.11.10.1
with mask 255.255.255.0
and gateway 10.10.198.7

so i do the command:
route add 10.11.10.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 10.10.198.7 1

and i get the error:
netmask: bad value

if i do the command:
route add 10.11.10.0 10.10.198.7 1

it works but it's going to put the default mask 255.255.255.255

what is wrong with my command with the mask?

Try

route add net 10.11.10.0 10.10.198.7 1

Does it work if you try:

route add net 10.11.10.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 10.10.198.7 1

?

It seems to me you omitted parameter net:

route add net 10.11.10.0 etc
