    <description>hi,&lt;BR /&gt;connect the old CDROM drive. boot the machine&lt;BR /&gt;and run ioscan -fnC disk &lt;BR /&gt;search for the CDROM drive in the output . what&lt;BR /&gt;is the H/W status and S/W status of that drive in the above output?.&lt;BR /&gt;Did you try changing scsi cable which connects CDROM drive ?.&lt;BR /&gt;regards,&lt;BR /&gt;U.SivaKumar&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <title>problem in mounting cdrom drive</title>

      <description>first cdrom drive working with id 4 and special file /dev/dsk/c1t4d0. after 10-15 days when i tried to mount cd it has given error&lt;BR /&gt;" no such device or address"&lt;BR /&gt;this time i have chaged the id 6.now i am able to mount the cd with out any problem. after one month again the same probelm with cd mount. it is giving "no such device or address"&lt;BR /&gt;system config is: Hp 9000 / E45 server / 2*2GB HDD /DDS1&lt;BR /&gt;pls help me to resolve this problem</description>

      <description>i did the followings&lt;BR /&gt;#ioscan -funC disk&lt;BR /&gt;#rmsf -H &lt;CDROM h=""&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;#reboot&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;connected other CDROM drive.and startded server.&lt;BR /&gt;#mount /dev/dsk/c1t6d0 /CDROM&lt;BR /&gt;it has mountd without any problem.&lt;BR /&gt;i.e is problem with CDROM drive. why this CDROM drives are getting defective with in short period. is there any server hardware related problem...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/CDROM&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;where is the cdrom located at the scsi-bus? Please check the   termination and the termination power. I think this is a scsi-bus problem.</description>
