You can't do this if the printer is attached to lpt1 on a windows machine. In fact, you can't do it, even if the printer was attached to another unix box. The "lp" suite only prints to local printers or to a print queue on another machine.

You can't do this. You can only use the windows driver if you are going to remote print to a windows box.

If the windows driver can't print 132 columns then perhaps you need to look at doing it the other way around. Or, use CUPS, a fancy distibuted printing system.

http://www.cups.org

Hi

If you look at /etc/lp/interface/printername

You will see that the remote script is not very developed for options.

Stop looking . You cannot do it.

Otherwise get a box to hang the printer on the network and do it that way

Jetdirect ex+ would be good and then print from PC or ux via the net

Steve Steel

Rajeev,

HPPI is available for 11.x here:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=18922

You will need to attach an external EX box to that printer for it to communicate with HPPI.

Regards,
Eric
