Have you installed the drivers for the card? If not, you need to.

Don't worry about the 64-bit issue on this box. The 715/100 only supports 32-bit OS so you are OK.

Hi,

what os release do you have? Have you installed the card after the os? If the os is 64bit, I think, it won't support eisa anymore.

Correct me, if I am wrong,

Michael
one thing to look at would be the version of the OS. at 11.0 hp stopped supporting a large number of esia cards and I don't think any are support on 11.11.

This goes back a really long time, but I recall that around the time of the 715/33, it was necessary to create the "C" rev of the EISA 10 Mbit/s Ethernet card. I don't recall the specifics of the prolem to know if it could result in a 715/100 not booting or not, but you might check that you have a rev "C" board.

I believe the comments about 11i not supporting EISA at all are correct, but that shouldn't result in a non-bootable system.

OK, first,

Yes, 11i supports that card. I am using it in several C160L and a 715/100 at 100/Half-Duplex (it won't support Full). All are 32-bit only machines, and no, eisa is not supported in 64-bit.

On the C160's I had to roll the firmware up (latest is 5.8). I had no such issue on the 715/100, but you could check it out. I don't remember if those are firmware upgradeable. I do remember, however, that it did not work in all the EISA slots.

One last thing, you may want to reseat all your memory, and make sure the eisa riser card is properly seated. Those machine are finicky once opened. I had to retrofit mine with a new drive about 5 months ago, and it took forever just to find a way to power it back on. That riser was not seated properly.
