    <description>Hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;yet another steve is here.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I would look at&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Changing the /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file:&lt;BR /&gt;It must be of this format for each card.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;change for lan 0&lt;BR /&gt;INTERFACE_NAME[0]=blank  &lt;BR /&gt;LANCONFIG_ARGS[0]=""  &lt;BR /&gt;BROADCAST_ADDRESS[1]=1.255.255.255  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;To&lt;BR /&gt;           &lt;BR /&gt;INTERFACE_NAME[0]=lan0&lt;BR /&gt;LANCONFIG_ARGS[0]="ether"&lt;BR /&gt;BROADCAST_ADDRESS[1]=blank&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;full example&lt;BR /&gt;INTERFACE_NAME[0]=lan0&lt;BR /&gt;IP_ADDRESS[0]=15.160.35.52&lt;BR /&gt;SUBNET_MASK[0]=255.255.254.0&lt;BR /&gt;BROADCAST_ADDRESS[0]=""&lt;BR /&gt;LANCONFIG_ARGS[0]=ether&lt;BR /&gt;DHCP_ENABLE[0]=0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Then Save changes to the /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Reboot your system.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;                  Steve Steel</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Are there any errors in the following files, as they may give further information:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/rc.log&lt;BR /&gt;/var/adm/syslog/syslog.log&lt;BR /&gt;/var/opt/resmon/log/event.log&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Anything appear when you run 'dmesg' in relation to this problem?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What happens when you look at the statistical information provided in 'lanadmin'?       <description>Michael's right, a little more context, if you please. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Understood that you're seeing this on the console -- where in the bootup process is it happening, (post the few previous/post lines from /etc/rc.log if it's in there) &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Look at the script that's generating the error and it will probably give clues as to why.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hth&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Mark</description>

      <description>My guess is that one of the files in /etc/rc.config.d has a typo in it.&lt;BR /&gt;cd /etc/rc.config.d&lt;BR /&gt;ls -ltr&lt;BR /&gt;Look at what has been changed lately.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sound like you have something like&lt;BR /&gt;lan[32342393]="billybob"&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Granted it's just a guess. &lt;BR /&gt;(but I'm a good guesser).&lt;BR /&gt;Steve</description>

      <description>Steve Posts's reply is right on the money.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Specifically the error message means that an array variable in a korn/posix shell script has an index greater than 1023. You would see this message if you typed in:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  var[1024]=foo&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You most likely have a typo in one of your /etc/rc.config.d files. none of the values between [] brackets can be greater than 1023.</description>
