Hi,

we've got some trouble with Samba (CIFS) 2.2.8
under HP-UX 11.0.
We have a share with the following definition:

[***]
comment = ***
path = ***
guest account =
create mask = 0666
short preserve case = Yes
mangle case = No
mangled names = No
browseable = No
blocking locks = No
strict locking = Yes
dos filetime resolution = No

From the clients sometimes we get the message
(german) "unzulässige share operation".
The clients are Win98 and MS-DOS 6.22.

So what's the problem?

Thanks
Ren

In addition to Michael's tests I'd suggest you ensure that you have a log level of 3 and then check the CIFS logs for errors around the times that your clients get errors.

regards,

Darren.
