    <description>The command "rpcinfo -p" will wait for 2-3 minutes before the message output,&lt;BR /&gt;rpcinfo: can't contact portmapper: RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Failed (unspecifi&lt;BR /&gt;ed error)&lt;BR /&gt;Isn't the daemon should be rpcbind as a replacement to portmapper?&lt;BR /&gt;I see rpcbind is running on my A500.&lt;BR /&gt;As a result, swinstall will fail.&lt;BR /&gt;Anybody know about this issue?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Jun</description>

      <description>portmapper is still required in some instances. Your problem indicates a few possibilites, likely to be an NFS problem.       <description>Start or stop nfs client and server has no effect on the rpcinfo -p error. How do I understand rpcbind is a replacement to portmapper? On the other hand, I don't see a portmapper on my 11.11.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Jun</description>
