Hi ALL,

I have problem with samba 2.0.7 version on hpux 11.It works fine with win2k sp3 and does not work when sp4 installed.

Any idea where i can report this bug for samba.

I think this is a bug of Win2000 SP4
It is possible that the password encryption is not correct ! Perhaps you should look for the registry

Have you tried CIFS 9000 (release 01.09.05) that is Samba revised for hp-ux and comes for free with the o.s.?
I still not experienced issues you're reporting, but I suggest to consult this site:

Hi,

The latest release of CIFS is A.01.10 available from http://software.hp.com (for free.)

Have you got any logging that indicates where the problem is?

Any tips on samba upgrade from 2.0.7 to latest 2.2.3.Any gotcha's or warnings?

BTW nothing much in logs to dig out.

Going from CIFS to CIFS is fine for upgrades. I would backup your smb.conf, username.map files - just in case.

The CIFS Server Technology Preview is based on 2.2.8a and is available via:

The HP team will review all reports and may directly contact users in order to further characterize an issue. Any resulting changes will be documented in subsequent Technology Preview releases..

I would load that and see if it fixes your problem - I'm running it in semi-production - and havn't had any issues....
