FC Install - Install Driver Before Hardware?

I am going to be installing two A6685A Tachlite cards in my K570.

I assume I should install all relevant patches before I have these fibre cards are installed correct? Looks like I need to install the following: PHKL_24187, PHKL_23939, PHSS_23996, PHKL_25938, PHKL_24027, & PHKL_25906.

My main question is, should the software driver A6685A from the first application CD be installed after the cards are installed or before? I would assume after but I am not sure and thus the reason for this post.

I would say install the card first and then the driver and after that the patches.

I had installed the drivers and patches after I had my A5158A Tachlyte cards installed (N-class) with no problem, but the principal should be the same.

Install the cards.
Install any patches needed.
Install the driver software.

You should be off and running.

I didn't check the patches, but there is probably one that requires a reboot anyways, so I'd install the hardware first, then the patches.

I think you will not be able to install the patches if the driver/software is not there already.

Hello,

I am referring to any patches that may be recommnded/required being installed prior to installing the driver software. For instance, prior to installing my A5158A Tachlyte drivers, I first had to install PHKL_23939.

Not all are directly related to the fibre cards, but I have read here and there they are needed for one reason or another. Just trying to figure out which ones I should install before the fibre cards and which ones after.

Hi,

By the way, I would make a depot with all needed patches. Try to install them first.
All patches that are needed in the first place will be installed then. Install the other after installation of the driver/software.
