Hi,

Here is one source. They have a binary depot for Samba 2.2.3a for 10.20:

http://gatekeep.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/Networking/Misc/samba-2.2.3a/

JP

Hi,

Try http://www.samba.org for a 10.20 version of Samba. However 10.20 support is ending in June 2003, so it would be far better to consider moving to 11.

regards,

Darren.

Hi,
Here is one of the samba mirror sites.
(Note- I have had installation troubles installing from these sites for HP-UX so if there is a problem, back out to samba.org and try another mirror. (Don't necessarily assume it's something you're doing.

http://us1.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/hp/

Correct me if I'm wrong, if you have the 10.2 application CD's, doesn't that contain CIFS server on one CD and CIFS client on another?

You might check there if you have them.

GL,
Kel

CiFS is only shipped on the 11.00 and 11i Application CD's, not for 10.20

And however HP tells us to move from 10.20 to 11.00 or 11i, we still have to earn our living from customers that still have 10.20, and until all customers made the move to a new machine (and hence 11.00 or 11i, since 10.20 ain't supported on new hardware), we *have to* do 10.20. Final. It's reality.

Enjoy, have FUN! H.Merijn

ASU/9000 was the product of choice upto HP-UX 11.00 and what most users used on 10.20 platforms. HP stopped supporting ASU/9000 last December and now ships SAMBA / CIFS/9000.

Hi,

The great thing about swat is that you can use it from another system with a browser. Just point it at http://yourserver:901 (port 901 is the standard swat port for Samba I believe.)

Another option is to build the smb.conf file from scratch. The Using Samba book from O'Reilly has lots of examples of smb.conf configuration.

regards,

Darren.
