What protocol do print requests use?

I need to install a firewall between a HPUX 10.20 K-Class server and a network which has some printers to which the server prints. I am defining the rules for what is allowed through the firewall, and wanted to confirm what I need to let through for the print requests to continue to work. The printers are HP4000 Laserjets, and Markpoints MP104 Compact barcode label printers. Can anyone confirm what the minimum allowable traffic should be for these to continue to work. Does all printers use the same standard in this respect?

Hi,

forgive me if i'm wrong, but if you are looking for the hp standart tcp/port it is 515
# grep print /etc/services
printer 515/tcp spooler # remote print spooling

The laser jets use port 9100, and the protocol is tcp; the barcode printers are going to depend upon how they are connected to the network.
