      <description>hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; Check with any one using the&lt;BR /&gt; file system, with fuser &lt;BR /&gt; command&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; fuser -cu (file system)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt; /sbin/init.d/nfs.client stop&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; /sbin/init.d/nfs.client start&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; you can try umount the now,&lt;BR /&gt; if does not works, then &lt;BR /&gt; reboot the system only is&lt;BR /&gt; only option.</description>

      <description>If its a hard mount ( by default its hard mount ) then you reexport the directory from the exporting server . YOur client serevr should be able to mount it again . If not then mount it and then unmount it . It should not show stale again .&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If it soft mount , it will try to mount it for certain period then give up and should not show up as stale .&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If none of this works , then rebot is the only option .</description>
