Vlad,

IGMP is setup on a card level.

Actually, you may refer to this link. It will give you more info. Some important points i am listing below.

Multicast addresses are in the range
224.0.0.0 through 239.255.255.255. Addresses 224.0.0.0 through 224.0.0.255 are reserved, and address 224.0.0.1 is permanently assigned to the all
hosts group

Class D IP addresses are identified as IP multicast addresses

You will have to configure your network card for the CLASS D configuration instead of A, B or C.

http://docs.hp.com/cgi-bin/fsearch/framedisplay?top=/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90147/B2355-90147_top.html&con=/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90147/00/00/78-con.html&toc=/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90147/00/00/78-toc.html&searchterms=IGMP&queryid=20020917-120639

Regards,
Anil (If this helps you, don't forget to assign points

;-)

)

Hi,
First of all IGMP capability has to be supported by a operating system for the network
card driver to run IGMP.

regards,
U.SivaKumar
