Hi, singar

we can change the protocol used by a service in /etc/services file. I haven't heard of protocol based riuting in HP till now. whereas same can be achived in routers using it's IOS commands

Hi,

Is it possible to configure protocol based routing in HP-UX (10.x and 11.x) box.
Ex: Assume multiple routers are configured within a subnet to reach one detination. For FTP, hosts should take Gateway A to reach the detination. HTTP traffic should go via Gateway B.

Thanks
singar

Hi,

There is no standard method to achieve protocol
based routing in HP-UX . But still you can experiment with QOS extensions of gated routing
daemon.

http://www.seas.upenn.edu/~guerin/qos_ospf.html

regards,
U.SivaKumar
