Hi,

the difference in the results could be explained by the exact agent software that is running on the HP, even a slight diffewrence in version can make that one agent to another replies differently or know more instances or gets more detailed on a certain instance , I have known system being identicall running different versions of snmpd giving other results , compare the version of your snmpd with each other , I would advise to go to the latest snmpd agent (called the extensible snmp agent), if I'm not wrong the latest version is 14.2 now , a HP system commes standard with version 1.0 or 1.0x realease so that is basic snmpv1 en v2 instances , the newer snmp agent is available from HP , if you install it then your systems will be identical in agent software and should give the same results

to download the agent you can just go to ITRC patch site and look for the specific one for your OS , this is for 11.0 version of HP-UX

Patch Name: PHSS_26138
Patch Description:

s700_800 11.X OV EMANATE14.2 Agent Consolidated Patch

Creation Date: 02/01/20
Post Date: 02/02/12
Hardware Platforms - OS Releases:

s700: 11.00 11.11
s800: 11.00 11.11

Products: OpenView Emanate 14.2

Hi Gary,

compare the output of the following commands for the different systems/agents:

snmpget IP-ADDRESS sysDescr.0
snmpget IP-ADDRESS sysObjectID.0

I guess you'll get different results, which means you do have different agents, which in turn means that those support different MIBs...

Regards,
Wodisch
PS: If they are all the same OS you could try to update your agents to the same release...
