I have a problem with the telnetd. I want to make a telnet session from a Client to a HP9000 Server with HP-UX 11.0. But it doesn't work. The error message is: telnetd: telnet drivers missing: No such device.
Is there anybody who knows this problem. Thank You for your help

hi

try this:

- rm /dev/pts/*
- rm /dev/pty/*
- cd /dev
- insf -e
- insf -d telm
- insf -d tels

and all work

Follow Domenico's advice and check the following kernel params

npty
nstrpty
nstrtel

if they are much lower than 500 set them to 500

Do a MAN on "tels".

You need to make a few kernel parameter changes, and then you need to check for patches.
