add new io resource; vparmodify

Hi, I have a RP7420 with 2 npars and 6 vpars. My SAN is XP512. I added a second single port hba to a vpar via the following while vpar was down;
# vparmodify -p vparname -a io:1.0.8
I want to be able to see my SAN thru either of two single port hba cards. (ie. 2 paths to same lun) I can see the green lights are on the card and the fc switch ports also has lights on. The vpars i put a dual port hba card in all see the dual paths
# xpinfo -il
but don't see any disks thru that second single hba card. I believe XP512 zoning and fc switch configuration are all correct.

When i booted up i expected to see luns thru that second card but ioscan shows nothing. Did i miss some configuration?

Well the card is there.
What does it show as when you run ioscan? Is it claimed and ok?
If so, do ioscan -H 1/0/8
If it comes back with nothing, then there is nothing presented down that path, so verify the zoning and XP configuration

hi lucinda
you have included the correct IO path and your card is recognized correctly
first of all check your interface status as root using /opt/fcms/bin/fcmsutil /dev/td4
if this shows a valid entry then get back to your storage to see if you modified correctly LUN masking according to the new wwn if your are using LUN masking or get back to your SAN to see fabric configuration

Hi again, so someone made some changes to switch config so now i ran an
# ioscan -fn
and now see (just grabbed a piece for example) something thru the 1/0/8 but not exactly what i see thru 1/0/2. Do I have to do another step?

I want to be able to see a dual paths but don't see them in the following...

I would like to see two 00:f0, and two 00:f8 extra. One on the A fabric and one on B fabric. Not seeing the /dev/dsk names on the disks thru 1/0/8. Ideas?
