Hello,

Use route -f (to flush ) the network entries. (This will disconnect you if you are connected to server with telnet session.

You can also use arp -d hostname
To delete an entry from arp table.

Goodluck,
-USA..

No, after a route -f.

You will need to recreate all the routes from the console.

Hi Jonathan

Do a netstat -nr to look at the current gateway. it is genearlly ending with x.y.z.1 where in x.y.z.a will be your servers netwrok address . If you can ping tot he gateway then you just do

route delete < gateway >
route add default <GATEWAY> no.of hops

and you should be good to go.

Manoj Srivastava</GATEWAY>

Look at the file /etc/rc.config.d/netconf.

This is where your routes should be defined. If the routes are in there then a reboot will not cause any problems other than the obvous down time.

It is tedious at best to describe what a file with multiple routes looks like, but I'll try.

# Default route looks like this...
ROUTE_DESTINATION[0]=default
ROUTE_MASK[0]=""
ROUTE_GATEWAY[0]="1.2.2.1"
ROUTE_COUNT[0]="1"
ROUTE_ARGS[0]=""

# other networks are more of a pain...
ROUTE_DESTINATION[1]="3.2.1.1"
ROUTE_MASK[1]=""
ROUTE_GATEWAY[1]="127.0.0.1"
ROUTE_COUNT[1]="0"
ROUTE_ARGS[1]=""

# other network routes
ROUTE_DESTINATION[1]="net 204.121.5.0"
ROUTE_MASK[1]="255.255.255.0"
ROUTE_GATEWAY[1]="1.2.2.1"
ROUTE_COUNT[1]="1"
ROUTE_ARGS[1]=""

Note the increment in the array! Note also that the "net" argument goes in the dest, and not the arg! ;) Thanks for makin that one easy HP!

Hope it helps!
Shannon
