Auto Port Aggregation

Hi,
I am building an L class box with 11i. I have installed apa and attempted to create an aggregate which fails with the message Configuration of Port aggrigation failed.

The Sam log does not give any detal as to why the aggregate cannot be created.

I am using the apa software succesfully on several 11 boxes so am at my whits end as to why I can not make it work under 11i.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Is your ethernet switch a supported platform (e.g. Cisco)?

this is very few info we have here , are you trying to make a agreggation with manual port or are you letting the machine agreggate every interface automatic ?? did you try to manually put the lancard in the agregate , does that work ? Like said before are you sure the switch/router you using is PAGP/FEC compliant , what is the configuration of your appaportconf and appaconf file ???

Also you have to install J4240AA. Did you have this software install?

Hi,
Thanks for the responses. I have the HP APA documentation. I am using APA on severl 11.0 Servers through the same switch that this one is connected to so the switch is supported. I will look at the links offered in the replies and see if anything helps.

I am configuring the aggregation manually. once I add the nics to the aggregation and click okay is the point at which I get the error configuration of port aggregation failed.
