Hi,

The meaning of 'outbound queue length' is "The length of the output packet queue" (in packets)

The definition of each of the fields in lanadmin are explained in the following document in Appendix A.

As far as the value is concerned, when was the
last time you cleared the statistics and
monitored what was happening. One more thing
do you have your lan card set for Full or
Half duplex. Having it set to Half duplex can
cause excessive late collisions and slower
responses when transferring files.

-Michael

http://www.docs.hp.com/hpux/pdf/J3622-90011.pdf

I am trying to find out what Outbound Queue Length means, exactly, any why on most of my 10.2 systems with a 10 MB interface it is 0, but on 1 system it is:
Outbound Queue Length = 4294967295

Yipes?

Forgive me for asking Michael, but how on earth do you know this stuff? No matter how obscure, you always seem to know :)

The system in question has been up 136 days, and the card counters had not been reset prior to my post.

It is a 10HD card. I did issue a reset to the card after posting because I was getting nervious, and now the Outbound Queue Lenth is 0.
