The old NFS server not responding error caused by pfs_mount and Oracle CD's is almost always caused by a DIRTY CD. Weve just had the same problem here the last few days. Every time it happened we had to reboot and sure enough, on removing the CD is was dirty on the back.

Remove and clean your CD or replace it with a nice copy and this will fix your problem. The Oracle metalink confirmed this for us.
Personally, I loathe 'pfs_mount', and it seems to return the favour! I have had heaps of problems, and there are a large number of forum messages about it!

Try this command, which will provide the long file names that the application may need.

mount -F cdfs -o cdcase /dev/dev/cf_dev_file /mount_point

Share and Enjoy!
