What do I need to install a 100BT PCI Card ?

Hello,

On an L3000, I already have a 100BT PCI card but in order to have a second LAN access for a storage network, I'll have to add an other 100BT PCI Card.

The number of the product is A5506A.

On my server, I've already installed some products and patches :

A5230A B.11.00.04 100BT/9000 PCI
B5509BA B.11.00.04 100BT/9000 PCI

PHNE_18668 1.0 PCI 100BT cumulative patch
PHNE_19094 1.0 PCI 100B(T/F) cumulative patch
PHNE_19826 1.0 Built-in PCI 100BASE-T patch

Do you know if I need something more ?

You should be able to find the drivers for this on the HP application disks (probably on Disk 1). The product name should be A5506A. After this is installed, the card should come up as claimed when doing and ioscan.

You should be able to install the card, boot the server, and then do an ioscan -fn to see the card. If it is claimed and has a driver, then you are set. If it isn't claimed, you'll need to go into sam and add the driver - but if you already have a similar card, then you should be set to rock and roll.

Hi,

As mentioned by Santosh above, there is a product A5506A on the Application CD No. 1. Install that product and all the dependencies for this product. Then check for the patches. you should be fine after that.

I have the same A5506A (PCI 4 port 100BT card) on my N4000 and the driver for this is A5506A found on application CD. I think the version B.11.00.02 for same can be found on Sep 2001 application CD.

Indeed I own this kind of card (LAN 100BaseT 4 ports PCI).

I've found the product A5506A on the first CD of the Applications of September 2001.

Now I can add my card serenely.

i have installed a PCI(4 port) card on the L2000 just some days ago.the product i installed is A5506B in the first App CD.
and hp suggested installing the patch phco_23876,maybe you should do it.
