    <description>I have a b class hp-ux 10.2 ,the password lost and forgotten. I have tried going into single user mode and { bo alt (my cdrom path) then y for interact with IPL} it returnd the following... Booting...&lt;BR /&gt;                 Failed to initialize.&lt;BR /&gt;                 ENTRY_INIT&lt;BR /&gt;                 Status = -7&lt;BR /&gt;FFFFFFF9 0000000 (etc.)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Failed to initialize.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am trying to boot with the hpux11.0  core OS install/upgrade/recovery disk. NOV 99&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can anyone offer assistance ?</description>

      <description>Hello!&lt;BR /&gt;Status -7 means  Nonexistent device.&lt;BR /&gt;The device address supplied to ENTRY_INIT is valid, but, the target controller or device is not installed or is not responding &lt;BR /&gt;ENTRY_INIT -7 Causes:&lt;BR /&gt;- Booting from the wrong path or non-existent device.&lt;BR /&gt;- Trying to boot from a device that is not responding.</description>

      <description>Hey Galen, &lt;BR /&gt;Why are you booting to tha alt path?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You could boot to primary, and answer yes to interract with ipl, then hpux -is.&lt;BR /&gt;That'll bring you to single user.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Or boot primary, yes to interract, and hpux -lm, for LVM maintenance mode. You'll have to vgchange -a y /dev/vg00, fsck the lv's, and mount them. and you should be in there.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;BTW, nice name...Are you the West Coast guy, I spoke to 5 or 6 years ago?&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi Galen&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please put the cd in the cdrom and do sea ipl from the first menu , it will list of bootable devices then may be you can go to singel user mode once you wher to boot rom , but please insert the core os bootable cd .&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Manoj Srivastava</description>
