You are right, make sure you use switch "-i" with make_recovery or "-I" with make_tape_recovery.

I need to do a make_recovery to put my OS on different disks. Currently the OS is on one 4 gig drive mirrored to another which doesn't allow for much space. I have 2 9 gig drives that i want to recover too. Basically just need confirmation...

do i just start the make_recovery process and do an ADVANCED INSTALLATION? Instead of a guided install? That should provide me with a section that i could direct the OS (root/boot) too. I am correct? Or is there a better way. ?

Hi Chris:

Select the Advanced Installation tab. You can then select your target disk, change filesystem sizes, etc. etc. This is most useful in remote Disaster/Recovery setups.

Regards!

...JRF...

Hi,

For starters use the latest ignite version !
Download here !
http://www.software.hp.com/products/IUX/

Use this command to make the tape:

make_tape_recovery -a /dev/rmt/0mn -I -v -x inc_entire=vg00

Boot from tape and use the interactive install option, this will let you choose to what disk you want to recover.

Regards,
C.
