I would not recommend trying to put a UUCP modem on the Remote Console port. Realize that the Remote Console port is just that, a CONSOLE port. Do you really want to give the outside world possible access to your console? .... On to your main question: Will it work? Yes it should.

Hi,

I am endeavouring to configure a modem on the Remote Console port on an L2000 run 11.0. I have read lots of documents and forum questions on this. There are some documents which suggest this is a non-standard 9pin serial port and only MT predictive support modems will work on this, and any other modem access requires a mux card. But there are others which suggest other modem types have been used ok. I need to configure a modem for UUCP dialout and file transfer use. Will the Remote Console port work or not?

thanks, Greg.
