Did you install the necessary drivers for your 100BT nic card? Without the drivers your card will not function.

Here is a list of filesets that I had to install on my D box to get the 100BT card running:

# swlist -l fileset | grep -i 100bt
# 100BT-EISA-FMT                        B.10.20.04     EISA 100BT/9000 formatter product.
100BT-EISA-FMT.100BT-FORMAT           B.10.20.04     EISA 100BT/9000 formatter library
# 100BT-EISA-KRN                        B.10.20.04     EISA 100BT/9000 kernel products.
100BT-EISA-KRN.100BT-KRN              B.10.20.04     EISA 100BT/9000 kernel library
# 100BT-EISA-RUN                        B.10.20.04     EISA 100BT/9000 command products.
100BT-EISA-RUN.100BT-INIT             B.10.20.04     EISA 100BT/9000 master file.
100BT-EISA-RUN.100BT-RUN              B.10.20.04     EISA 100BT/9000 command libraries

I don't remember if the software is codeword locked or not. It might be. Nevertheless, you need to install the software.

Hi everyone,

Can you help me with a few problems I ran into over the weekend.

1. We have a 9000 class D server with a build-in 10T NIC. We want to install a 100T NIC, and after I installed it; rebooted the system; did ioscan, lanscan and looked in SAM. Nothing showed up except for the Built-in card
ie:
# lanscan
Hardware Station Crd Hardware Net-Interface NM MAC HP DLPI Mjr
Path Address In# State NameUnit State ID Type Support Num
8/16/6   0x080009AEC8B6 0   UP       lan0     UP     4   ETHER      Yes     52

I tried to install the card at different slot and/or locations and still nothing show up.

I looked at /etc/rc.log and found :

Output from "/sbin/rc2.d/S008net.sd start":
-rw-r--r--   1 root       sys           4378 Jun 27  1999 inetd.conf.old
Start network tracing and logging daemon

I also looked at /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file
and found:

INTERFACE_NAME[0]=lan0
IP_ADDRESS[0]=199.##.###.##
SUBNET_MASK[0]=255.255.255.0
BROADCAST_ADDRESS[0]=199.##.###.255
LANCONFIG_ARGS[0]="ieee"
DHCP_ENABLE[0]=0

This is where i am stuck. Do I edited the file above and put [1] inplace of [0] ?? if so where would I get the IP address, since SAM only show the built-in card and not recognized the 2nd card at all. I really appreciate any help. Thank you.
Thi

2.

Hi Thi,

If you still cannot find card from ioscan.
this could be driver/patch for card needed.
not software configuration.
