NFS patch PHNE_22877 caused
system panic on all of my machines
(HP 9000/7XX under HP-UX 10.20).

Maybe you should uninstall that patch and install the old PHNE_20957. This is not know as a critical patch, but it solves some slow NFS responses.

Thanks for the warning on the patch installation causing a panic. Are all 14 patches required with PHNE_22877 installed?

Did you open a software case with HP and report the panic? Has HP confirmed this to be a new problem?

The patch download page mentions 3 dependencies only, and these patches are all there. PHNE_20957 was also
there, but now has been superseded.
This is not the first time an NFS patch caused system panic. As for notifying HP ... Have you ever tried to phone HP Germany? You spend several hours on the phone, get switched around, and always end up at some person who never heard that HP manufactures UNIX workstations. And without an active support contract they won't move a finger.
Please let me know where to report my troubles.
