Is this an 11.0 server? If so, check for dead gateway detection. I included a document that explains this.

Berlene

Hello,
I still have a problem with my "training server".
i can see it from a pc for some time, and then i loose connection. the problem
doesn't exist on the server - i can "see" all the network neighbourhood all the
time. so - it cannot be problem with duplication of ip addresses. when i ping
the server - about 10 packets arrive to the target, then about 50 do not, and
then ie. one arrives, and the rest do not.

could this be a matter of ie. filters in my local network?

thanks in advance,
mariusz grabowski

I hope that you have this problem resolved by now, but if not, I would not suspect any filtering in your network.

Cabling or a bad interface are the number one cause of this type of problem.

Good Luck.
