    <description>Dear HPUX admin,&lt;BR /&gt;when i issue bdf, the last output it says NFS server B not responding still trying. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;what is the impact of this to our server performance. will it degrade? ermm&lt;BR /&gt;would really appreciate your advice. many thanks in advance&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>It depends?  Is the filesystem that is mounted from the non-responding server important to production work?  If so, then it could have a large performance impact in that some critical processes may not work.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This is definitely something you should look at and get taken care of.</description>

      <description>NFS should never be used on a production server unless the NFS server is also production quality. When an NFS server stops working, it is like ripping a disk out of your computer. All programs that depend on the data on this mountpoint will hang. That's a very serious impact to your server. bdf, df and find and many other commands may try to access this missing disk and hang.</description>

      <description>Hi Almond,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Best practices NFS server U boot up first then U boot up related all server, if possible U reboot first NFS server then rest of the server in Ur environment. If all the server not production mode, other ways U need down time.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanksâ  Yaqub&lt;BR /&gt;HP Support!!!</description>
