    <description>Good nights.&lt;BR /&gt;Forgive my English is not good, but I will try  explain better.&lt;BR /&gt;The question is:&lt;BR /&gt;How do I update LVM's version that I have in my server HP-UX version 11.0?&lt;BR /&gt;What do I need to do?&lt;BR /&gt;Of that link I can download it?&lt;BR /&gt;Which is the risk that I have?&lt;BR /&gt;pls i need help &lt;BR /&gt;I add a few information of the server, since the motive of the update is as that I have problems to the moment to create VG and FS.</description>

      <description>I do not understand your question.  What do you mean "update a HP's LVM"?  Do you mean to install the latest LVM patch?  That is really the only update to LVM you can do.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please give more details about what you want to do.</description>

      <description>Shalom,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Updates to logical volume management are contained in bi-annual patch sets, the latest of which for 11.00 was May of 2004.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Download it, install it, it will want to reboot the box. The risk is minimal.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I agree with Patrick that you should elaborate a bit on the question.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>Even though the question is not clear, we all guess what you need is updating LVM on HP-UX 11.00&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i have recently patched my servers&lt;BR /&gt;PHCO_33244            1.0            LVM commands cumulative patch&lt;BR /&gt;PHKL_34694            1.0            LVM Cumulative Patch.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;check this too&lt;BR /&gt;PHKL_27814            1.0            LVM Cumulative Patch w/Performance Upgrades&lt;BR /&gt;PHCO_27369            1.0            LVM commands (VA7410 HWE) cumulative patch.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;keep to at least this levels.</description>

      <description>Still not clear!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;"tjderby / #vgcreate -s 1 /dev/vgprueba /dev/dsk/c5t9d0&lt;BR /&gt;vgcreate: Physical Volume "/dev/dsk/c5t9d0" contains no LVM information"&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you try to create a VG on a new and empty disk, you need to run "pvcreate" - this step was probably missing!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Yes but this problem happend whit the 20 HDÂ´s in the new array only can works whit disk to 18 GB, this is my problem.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Run vgdisplay -v for this VG and you will get something like this:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Max PV                      16&lt;BR /&gt;Cur PV                      1&lt;BR /&gt;Max PE per PV               2500&lt;BR /&gt;PE Size (Mbytes)            4&lt;BR /&gt;Total PE                    2168&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Now calculate&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Max PE per PV * PE Size = max disk size&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;At least in 11.00 you cannot change the values.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Consider to add more smaller LUNs until you reach the maximum of Max PV.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
