Use rmsf to delete the device files using the hardware path.
Then use insf -e -H 1/0/6/1/0.1.22.255.1.9.0 to recreate the device files.
If the legacy files are still missing, use insf -L to recreate all the legacy files.

Hi I have a question about the tape dsf. (hpux 11.23, rx7620)

Here is the output of ioscan. Why the tape instance 6 and 7 have no legacy dsf names like (/dev/rmt/50mn)... I have used the insf -e -H 1/0/6/1/0.1.22.255.1.9.0, but there is no change...... Is there any way to fix it? thanks！

[P1MESDB2/]#ioscan -fnC tape
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
=========================================================================
tape 50 0/0/12/1/0.1.27.255.3.6.0 stape CLAIMED DEVICE HP Ultrium 3-SCSI
/dev/rmt/50m /dev/rmt/50mnb /dev/rmt/c32t6d0BESTn
/dev/rmt/50mb /dev/rmt/c32t6d0BEST /dev/rmt/c32t6d0BESTnb
/dev/rmt/50mn /dev/rmt/c32t6d0BESTb
tape 51 0/0/12/1/0.1.27.255.3.7.0 stape CLAIMED DEVICE HP Ultrium 3-SCSI
/dev/rmt/51m /dev/rmt/51mnb /dev/rmt/c32t7d0BESTn
/dev/rmt/51mb /dev/rmt/c32t7d0BEST /dev/rmt/c32t7d0BESTnb
/dev/rmt/51mn /dev/rmt/c32t7d0BESTb
tape 6 1/0/6/1/0.1.22.255.1.9.0 stape CLAIMED DEVICE HP Ultrium 3-SCSI
/dev/rmt/c33t9d0BEST /dev/rmt/c33t9d0BESTn
/dev/rmt/c33t9d0BESTb /dev/rmt/c33t9d0BESTnb
tape 7 1/0/6/1/0.1.22.255.1.10.0 stape CLAIMED DEVICE HP Ultrium 3-SCSI
/dev/rmt/c33t10d0BEST /dev/rmt/c33t10d0BESTn
/dev/rmt/c33t10d0BESTb /dev/rmt/c33t10d0BESTnb
[P1MESDB2/]#
