powermt check is the command to remove dead paths

if you have manually removed an I/O path, check command will detect a dead path and remove it from the EMC path list.

If you want powermt to automatically remove all dead paths, without any confirmation, execute “powermt check force”

Check whether multipath or single path. (ioscan -m dsf or powermt)

Check whether the HBA card is online or not. (fcmsutil /dev/tdx)

If the HBA card is not online, check the link and card.

Finally, go for the rmsf.

hi,

Check for the disks with NO_HW at the out of

#ioscan -fnkC disk"

You should see the list of detached devices.

There are 2 ways

You can remove them manually

#rmsf -H hw_path

You can remove them automatically. HP-UX choose to remove. Removes all the stale IO nodes and the stale device special files from the system.

#rmsf -x

Regards
