if the patch O/S level say only 11.00

Can it be used on 11.11 ?

Patch in mind PHSS_24303 (the one with the warning)

NO!!!! An 11.0 patch can NOT be used on an 11.11 (11i) OS.

For HP-UX 11.11 the patch you want is PHSS_26263

Hi:

Patches are specific to an OS version. PHSS_24303 has been superseded by PHSS_26262, but applies to 11.0 and cannot be used on 11.11. You can always consult the patch equivalency tables too, to see if any applicable, equivalent issues apply:

Hi,

The reality is that HP-UX will not allow you to install the patch if it is meant for different version. HP-UX checks the version before it procedds for installation. If the patch is for 11.11 and you try to install on 11.0 , it won't allow and you can't install it on HP 11.0
