FLT means a FauLT has occoured during bootup and/or hardware test.

CFB0 (the FauLT code) means a High Priority Machine Check (HPMC) has happened. This points to a probable hardware problem (CPU, Cache, Memory or I/O Subsystem). Call your HP Response Center for further troubleshooting if the problem resists.

- Nico

I had the same problem. Do you hgave any external storage connected, if yes, then disconnect it. Then boot your computer. Stop at the prompt and boot with IPL. type

IPL> hpux -is

This will take you to the single user. Shut your computer down and attach everything. Then reboot normally.

Good Luck.

Hi Venkat:

FLT CBF0 is an HPMC error code generated by the system. If you want a better explanation about which part, what error, then check the PIM information under Service Menu in the boot console menu. This is normally a hardware error. I would suggest you to contact the hardware support.

Also, does the system shows some error while booting ( before getting the console display )? What do you mean by system checking for bootable device ? Normally the system will start booting from the primary boot disk !

HTH,
Shiju

Hi,

If you have an external disk connected, and since then the problem of occasionally reboots started occurring, then you will need to investigate on the crash dump.
This you will find in /var/adm/crash.

These should be send to HP or you will have to know your way with q4 to debug the real problem.

C.

Access your HPMC data and post them here, though I doubt anyone will be able to de-cypher it, you best bet is call HP response center. Ok to access the HPMC data ..

1) Interrupt the bootup to get to Service Menu.
2) At main menu prompt enter "service"
3) In the Service Menu enter "pim 0" for processor 1 or "pim 1" for processor 1, this gives you the data you need to troubleshoot.
