Hi,

I have a feeling that ORCA is not supported on PA-RISC systems...

"The Smart Array Controllers support Option ROM Configuration for Arrays (ORCA) on HP Integrity servers. When a server is powered on, the Power-On Self Test (POST) runs, and array controllers in the system are initialized."

Source: http://www.dectrader.com/docs/set5/c02011534.pdf (page 22)

"For PA-RISC systems, use Ignite/UX and saconfig to create the logical drives. For Integrity systems, use the Option ROM Configuration for Arrays (ORCA) to create the logical drives."

Source: http://www.filibeto.org/unix/hp-ux/lib/hardware/systems/rp3410_3440/rp-to-rx-upgrade-AB359-90002.pdf (page 65)

Hope for you that somebody can prove me wrong ;-).

sangilak

This is complicated. No ORCA at all.

You need to use saconfig from HP-UX, either from running OS or from recovery shell.

hi,

are you trying to set up the disks as boot disks in raid set? or just setting additional raid set up. If extra storage then use saconfig commands in hpux

if as boot device then yuo need to boot OS cd selecting recovery shell and load some files first at commandline and build readset on comandline also

see the doc attached I threw together some time ago for more info

Andy

Be aware, offline only works with 11.11 recovery shell - newer versions don't have the needed files available.

If you want to set up logical drives for data, you can do this online using saconfig.
