First what are you trying to do sir?

Do you employ a PC Based X Server emulation software like HCL eXceed or Kea-X or HummingBird X to act as your X Display whilst your X-Applications are HP-UX based?

Or do you use a UNIX/Linux Desktop and you are displaying a HP-UX based application on your local UNIX/Linux desktop?

And what kind of application is it?
answer the above questions and look into xfs comes with a man page it can serve fonts to remote displays so most likely needs to be running on the same system that xnet is installed see http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=190187 is this unix ?

xnet as in XNET - AX.25 Packet Network Analyzer
looks old ?

xnet is an X application based on X11 which is an xserver emulator just like Xcursion or Xming.X applications are hpux based. This application sometimes fails to startby a x error:
X Error of failed request: BadName (named color or font does not
exist)
Major opcode of failed request: 75 (X_PolyText16)
Serial number of failed request: 4057
Current serial number in output stream: 4111
Xfs is running on the machine.
@Azeema:
"xnet is an X application based on X11 which is an xserver emulator just like Xcursion or Xming.X applications are hpux based."

Are you SURE?

Where does it run and HOW are you launching it?

DO you understand the basics of X-Windows Environment sir?

X-Windows is a CLIENT and SERVER environment.

The SERVER is your X-WIndows Desktop or Emulator (i.e PC Based X-Server software like eXceed, Kea-X, X-Vision, Reflection-X, etc). It is where the CLIENTS "display" on.

So my question again is - where is your DISPLAY? ANd where do you run xnet from?

Has there been a change in your DISPLA (X-Server emulator or natice Workstaion Desktop)? There are OLD X-Applications (aka your CLIENT) that sometimes have difficulty with certain fonts and colour maps on new X-Displays -- that sometimes you need to tweak it to employ FontServers that congain your X-Client's needed fonts (family) or colour)

Hope this helps and enlightens you on X-Windows
xnet is an X application based on X11 which is an xserver emulator just like Xcursion or Xming.X applications are hpux based.

whether it's the emulator or an X application just because xfs is running does not mean it'serving you the fonts you require. I take it you readd the man page ? ant tried xset -q to determine what fonts are currently being utilised ?

One other point for now if the emulator is on a pc and xfs is running on an hpux server how do the font arrive on the PC I take it you have configured a font path and pointed it to the font server and port 7000 ?

More details please ....
