smart array 6402 software installation problem

hi all
i want to connect MSA30 to my rp7420 server , i have the smart array 6402 card , i have downloaded the depot software for this card from HP , when i try to install the software either in SAM or by commands i have error accessing file /usr/conf/lib/libciss.a and the installation stops , can any body give me help , thnx all

Shalom,

MSA30 is a SCSI disk array, not a fiber channel disk array. It needs to be connected to the rp7420 system via a scsi card.

I'm not totally familiar with the smart array 6402 card, but want to ask you if its certified for the rp7420 server. If not, you need to get it out quickly.

The rp7420 servers standard lvd scsi connector should be capable of working with an MSA30

I've done my homework and determined that the array card 6402 is supported.

I don't see why you need it to connect to the MSA30, the connector on the Core I/O board should be sufficient.

Hi,

there should be no problem to put the smartarray card and the MSA30 together.

Your problem sounds like a bad download.
Delete the file, empty your browsers cache and download again.

ok thats great

but i just want to know why i cant install the software .

i face a problem while trying to install gnome few days ago on a nother server (rp7420 ) then suddenly i can install it when i try on the current server (the gnome starts with no problem ) but now i cant install this software on the same server

do you think there is a problem related to software installation

i note some thing

when i download the depot file the name is (RAID-01_B.11.11.0609_HP-UX_B.11.11_64.depot) but on the installation guide the file name is different ( RAID-01_11_11_03.depot
) i tried to find this file but i couldn't
any idea ?

The guide may be out of date at this point.

Download the software from here and compare the checksum:

your MD5 Checksum is for HP-UX 11i V2 not V1
