without using sam how can i check if a disk is mirrored ?

You can do a display of the volume

lvdisplay
example

lvdisplay /dev/vg00/lvol3
--- Logical volumes ---
LV Name /dev/vg00/lvol3
VG Name /dev/vg00
LV Permission read/write
LV Status available/syncd
Mirror copies 1

Here mirror =1 means there is one mirror. If it is 0 then no mirror.

Hi,

LVM does not mirror disks but lvols, so
$ lvdisplay /dev/vgXY/lvolZ
should have a line with "Mirror Copies".

it must not have no PE with stale. in case that it exists some executes lvsync /dev/vgxxx/lvxxx
