      <description>Hello Rajesh,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The following would be the steps that you would need to follow for the activity&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Step 1 :-  Initialize the disks into vxvm and add them to the diskgroup&lt;BR /&gt;a) You should before this activity have a list of the disk..&lt;BR /&gt;#ioscan -fnC disk&lt;BR /&gt;#vxprint  (for the diskgroup name and the dm names)&lt;BR /&gt;b) Add teh disks to vxvm.. &lt;BR /&gt;# vxdiskadm  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;the below link should be able to help you..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-0603/ch02s06.html" target="_blank"&gt;http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-0603/ch02s06.html&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;b)Once the disks are added to the disk group, you can confirm with the following commands&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# vxdisk list &lt;BR /&gt;Here the disks should be ONLINE and the disk media name and diskgroup should be populated.&lt;BR /&gt;# vxprint -g &lt;DISK group=""&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;In  the DM part you should be able to view your disks here.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Step 2 :- Extending the volume.. you have to be a bit more clear on what exactly you want to achieve..&lt;BR /&gt;i) Extend the size of the existing volume&lt;BR /&gt;ii) Add two more mirror copies for the volume such that the new disks have the mirror copies.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;For starters.. vxassist is teh command that will assist you here..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Mail me the information by replying to this thread and put in cc albert_pereira@yahoo.com  and i will get back to you. it would be great if you can attach the following info as well&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;a) ioscan -fn&lt;BR /&gt;b) vxdisk list&lt;BR /&gt;c) vxprint&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;regards&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Albert&lt;/DISK&gt;</description>

      <description>Thanks Albert for quick updates.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have below Mirrored Volume reaching 97%. Now I have to extend this Volume by adding disk. I adding 2 disks here.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/vx/dsk/newdg/newvol&lt;BR /&gt;                     44150784 42441772 1603319    97%    /data/inmedstat&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am cleared with steps to configuring disks as VM disks. After that,&lt;BR /&gt;What parameter I have to use with &lt;BR /&gt;  # vxresize or # vxextend commands.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please give me the steps.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks &amp;amp; Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Rajesh &lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi Rajesh,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Just do the following.&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/vx/bin/vxresize -g omcdg srs_1_d_v +10g&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;there should not be space after "+" symbol.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks,&lt;BR /&gt;Srikanth</description>
